When you board a ship, a plane, a train, or enter a car, odds are you know where you are going. “My ticket says I am going to London.”
“I’m flying to visit my sister in Dallas.”
“I’m driving to ballet lessons.”
However, when you get your ticket to life, rarely is the journey so straightforward. Life is not linear. Rather, it’s a series of ups and downs and one left turn after another. We take three steps forward, only to take two steps back. Life disrupts our plans. It discombobulates, confuses, and depresses if we are not adequately prepared for the journey.
When life handed Corrie a ticket to Ravensbruck, the Nazi Concentration Camp, God gave Corrie everything she would need for the journey. And like He did for Corrie, God will give us everything we need to face whatever we must face with confidence, joy, and endurance.
